Catherine Leonard studied music at King’s College London and piano at the Royal Academy of Music. She was accepted onto the third-year Advanced Performance Studies course in association with the Royal Academy after being awarded a First in piano performance.
She has had piano tuition with renowned teachers including Konrad Richter at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart, Aaron Shorr and Graeme Humphrey at the Royal Academy of Music and with Irina Zaritskaya, Alexandra Andriewsky and Peter Feuchtwanger in London.
Catherine has performed in Masterclasses at the International Holland Music Sessions summer academy and has given more than 250 solo recitals throughout the UK in venues including St James’s Church, Piccadilly, the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, the Foundling Museum in London, the Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle, the Chapel Royal in Brighton, Leith Hill Place for the National Trust and in Southwark, Chichester and Chelmsford Cathedrals. For 5 consecutive years she was invited to give recitals in St Mary’s Cathedral in Edinburgh as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and has performed at the Happing, Brighton, Harwich and Chelmsford Festivals.
She has given piano lessons from beginner level to Grade 8 and above since 2004 and has prepared pupils for examinations, performances and competitions.
