Darina Letkova is a lyrical soprano born in Slovakia. She comes from a musical family and has been very passionate about music and singing from a very young age. Darina started singing traditional Slovak folk songs at the age of 4. After winning the state song competition led by the famous Slovak tenor Peter Dvorsky, she was selected to represent Slovakia in an International song competition in Portugal, where she won, at only the age of 8.
After a successful period of performing as a young artist she decided to develop her singing further and at age sixteen began her classical vocal studies at the State Conservatoire in Zilina, Slovakia under the leadership of Nao Higano.
After graduating from Conservatoire, she moved to London to pursue her career further and studied a Bachelor of Music at Kingston University. During her studies in Kingston, she had the opportunity to perform in a concert event for Princess Alexandra in Richmond Park.
Darina recently finished her postgraduate studies with a Distinction in Vocal Performance at the London College of Music, studying with Sandra Ford, former principal soprano of ENO. While studying at LCM, she was a member of the London College of Music Choir and took part in a production of a contemporary opera, Alice in Wonderland. Since graduating, Darina has found a passion for teaching vocal students and helping students to find their own voice.
