William Summers・Flute & Recorder

William Summers was born in Richmond, Surrey and went to school locally before studying music at the School of Music, Colchester Institute and Trinity College of Music, London. Since then, he has taught flute and recorder for local music services, Brunel University and Morley College of adult education.

He has also led workshops in early music and other genres for Richmond Music Service, Halesworth Festival, numerous individual schools and the British Museum. Performing work includes playing with regional Baroque orchestras, chamber music around the UK and abroad, and recording with contemporary songwriters and bands, notably Circulus and The Medieval Baebes. Currently, William teaches recorder at The Mall Preparatory School, Twickenham and informal adult education classes in Vauxhall; runs concerts of early music in historic venues [see www.lokimusic.co.uk] and researches 18th.-century concert life. William also has an active interest in amateur choral music.
