Someone has locked the music room...

On Monday morning the studio is sealed, a letter appears, and a mysterious voice — the Maestro — sets the first puzzle. Each day unlocks a new room, each room hides a padlock code, and every code is earned by playing, never by guessing.

By Friday, one last letter and one last lock stand between the team and the door… 🏆

— The mysterious “Maestro”, who leaves a puzzle a day

Four rooms, four keys to music

The rooms are named after the real building blocks of music — your child just experiences them as a week of puzzles.

The Finale

The last letter, the last lock — then the escape, performed for families.

📦 The Box

By the end of Day 4, every padlock on the Maestro’s box comes off. Inside: treats — and a smaller box with one final padlock. The only way to open it is hidden in Friday’s music… Solve that, and the team has truly escaped.

The hidden curriculum 🤫

They’ll think they spent the week escaping. You’ll notice this:

Steady pulse

Time is the first room — rhythm locks won’t open otherwise.

Reading fluency

Intervals, steps & skips become second nature.

Chord confidence

Harmony in the hands, not just the workbook.

Musical imagination

Motifs made, shaped and performed.

Ensemble teamwork

Mixed teams, shared locks, real collaboration.

Performance nerve

Friday’s escape ends on stage — great exam fuel.

The practical bit

🎂 Ages 8+ — no exam levels needed, just curiosity (and a taste for mysteries)

⏰ Mon 26 – Fri 30 Oct — 9:30–14:30 daily · families join us at 14:00 on the Friday

👕 Bring a plain t-shirt on Monday for team decorating (posters & materials provided)

🥪 Bring a packed lunch + water bottle — snacks for break help too

🎹 Everything else provided — keyboards, padlocks, props, clues & ciphers

👥 Small groups — and if a week fills, we open a second group rather than a waiting list

💷 What it costs: £150 for the whole week

Five full days (Mon–Fri, 9:30–14:30) for £150 per child — keyboards, props, clues, crafts and Friday’s family performance all included. Open to everyone aged 8+ — current students and newcomers alike, so school friends and neighbours are very welcome.

Already with us? You’re in — the week uses 5 of your child’s 7 enrichment credits, booked as usual through the studio. New to Creative Chords? £150 for the week, no membership needed. Places are limited — booking secures your child’s spot.

Questions parents ask

  • No — the rooms hide puzzles inside puzzles, so every level gets stretched. Teams are mixed, and helping each other is very much the point.

  • No — the camp is open to everyone aged 8+, including complete newcomers. Current students join with 5 enrichment credits as part of their 39 + 7 programme; new friends pay £150 for the week. Both are equally welcome.

  • Both — that’s the trick. Time, Interval, Chord, Motif: every room is a music lesson in disguise. The games are the wrapper; the practice is real.

  • The last letter and padlock in the morning, final activities after lunch, then a short performance to parents — filmed — from 14:00, home at the usual 14:30. Families are warmly invited.

  • We open a second group rather than leave anyone on a waiting list — that’s why booking early matters for keeping your preferred week.

  • The camp is one five-day story — the padlocks build day by day, so it’s bookable as a week (£150), not by the day.
