For 20 years, Creative Chords has helped children and grown-ups fall in love with music. This is the story of how one piano became a whole school, and why we still get butterflies before every first lesson.

 

The beginning

It started with one piano and a big idea. 20 years ago, Creative Chords began with a simple belief: music lessons should be the highlight of a child's week, never the chore they dread. So we threw out the stuffy rulebook. No silent drills. No "sit still and repeat." Instead, we built every lesson around play, curiosity, and a healthy dose of noise. That first studio was small, but the idea was enormous: if you make music joyful from the very first note, children don't just learn, they thrive.

What we believe

The goal is a child who can't wait to show you what they learned, not one who's scared of a wrong note. Every child learns differently so we teach differently. Five programs, ten instruments, and lessons shaped around the learner not the syllabus. Progress you can see,  Chord Credits, medals mean growth is visible and celebrated every single week. Termly concerts turn nerves into pride. That first moment on stage? It changes everything.

What makes us different

A fresh approach to music education We know music schools can feel a little old-fashioned. Ours doesn't - that's the point!

Fun, social group lessons. For most children, the very first reason to love music is the other children in the room. Our group sessions turn lessons into playdates with purpose, learning alongside friends makes practice feel less like practice.

Gamified learning (Chord Credits). Every lesson earns Chord Credits. Children level up, hit milestones and trade them in for rewards. It turns practice into something they actively look forward to.

Free welcome packs. Every new family receives a free welcome pack, materials, rewards and the tools to practise at home, so day one feels like a proper start.

How we teach

Great teaching is the secret. The magic is in the details. A program for every age — From Animal Adventures (3–5) and KeyNotes (4–6) to Intro to Music (5–12), Group Sessions and 1-to-1 lessons,  there's a place for every child, and every adult.

The 39 weekly lessons plus 7 enrichment sessions a year like theory, band, masterclasses and showcases that go far beyond the weekly slot. Termly concerts and a 99% exam pass rate. From first recital to grade exams, we celebrate every milestone along the way.
